Initial Evaluation (60 minutes)
Our licensed SLP will conduct a comprehensive speech and language evaluation to assess the following areas: speech sound production, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic skills, voice, and fluency. For more information about these areas, see our provided services below for further description. A standardized assessment will be administered to evaluate areas of concern. If the child is not appropriate for standardized testing due to decreased attention, emotional dysregulation, age, etc., more informal measures will be obtained through observation. The SLP will also obtain a speech or language sample during more play-based activities to better understand the client’s abilities in a more natural context. Findings will be discussed with the family and a copy of the evaluation report can be provided within 72 hours after the date of service.
Treatment Sessions (30 minutes)
Whether through virtual learning or in-home support, sessions typically begin with a discussion of the child’s progress from the previous week. We encourage parents to be active and involved in sessions so that they can learn strategies to better support their child. Sessions may involve more direct 1:1 intervention between the clinician and the child, while other times they may take the form of a coaching experience with the parents. Families may be provided with “homework” or a “goal for the week” to help implement new skills into the child’s daily life. Our ultimate goal is for both the client and their family to feel supported and comfortable when working together. Sessions may occur 1-2x/week.

Speech Therapy Services
* indicate areas of specialty
AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication)*
We help children who are non-speaking or minimally-speaking find their voice through AAC indcluding high-tech communication devices, picture boards, and sign language. Many individuals on the autism spectrum or who are diagnosed with a developmental disability may benefit from AAC. Upon initiation of services, we can conduct a formal AAC evaluation, begin a device trial, and submit documentation for insurance approval.
Early Language Development (Ages 1–5)*
We support toddlers and preschoolers with first words, combining words, and understanding language. Early intervention builds a strong foundation for future learning and communication success.
School-aged Language Disorders
We help school-aged children who struggle with receptive and expressive language. Receptive language abilities allow children to understand spoken language. This can include following directions, listenting/reading comprehension, and understanding the meaning of words. Expressive language is the way a child communicates their thoughts, feelings, and ideas to their peers. Expressive language skills may include: story telling, use of appropriate grammatical structure, and describing actions or events. Our therapy supports success in the classroom and beyond.
Speech Sound Disorders - Phonology & Articulation*
If your child’s speech is hard to understand, we can address the phonological patterns and sound systems that may be affecting their speech intelligibility, or ability to be understood by others. Speech sound disorders can also be characterized by distortions of speech sounds including l, r, or s.
Childhood Apraxia of Speech
If your child knows what they want to say but struggles to get the words out clearly, it might be apraxia. Apraxia is a speech disorder that affects the brain’s ability to plan and sequence complex motor movements needed for speech. We offer support to help your child build the motor planning skills needed for confident, clear speech.
Social Communication Disorders/Pragmatics
We help children who struggle with things like taking turns in conversation, reading social cues, or building friendships. Therapy focuses on real-life social skills to improve peer and classroom interactions.
Literacy & Reading Readiness
We support early literacy skills including phonological awareness, sound-letter matching, and comprehension — essential for kindergarten readiness and early reading success. If your child has or had a speech sound disorder, they are more likely to have difficulty reading. Let us help!
Fluency Disorders (Stuttering)
Is your child repeating sounds or getting stuck on words? Our therapy focuses on fluency-building strategies and confidence so your child can speak freely and comfortably in any setting.
Feeding Disorders
Mealtimes shouldn't be stressful. We help children who have difficulty chewing, swallowing, or managing different textures through feeding therapy that is gentle, responsive, and family-centered.
**While we specialize in treating pediatrics, we welcome adult clients who may be seeking therapy for swallowing disorders, difficulty with language, or cognitive skills.
